In 1998 my wife and I opened the Great Harvest Bread Co. in
Burnsville
. It was a lifelong dream realized to open a small business. Better yet, the business I started allowed me to work with my hands while satisfying the dream of having my own company. I still get in early with my co-workers to begin making the bread for that day. It remains deeply satisfying to make such incredible bread each day that is nourishing the local community.
At the
Burnsville
store, our employees take our passion for hard work, lots of fun, superior customer service and great bread to an art form. We abide wholeheartedly by our version of the Great Harvest credo: run fast to help customers, work hard, have fun, use the freshest ingredients available, bake great bread and give generously to others. On any given day, you’ll find our customers sitting in the sunny window seat munching on sweet treats or free slices of bread, watching our high-energy bakers at work, and basking in the nurturing aromas of our freshly baked bread.
We stone grind our whole wheat flour every day in our store. Just like fresh ground coffee beans make a better cup of coffee, fresh ground grains of wheat make a better tasting – and better for you! – loaf of bread. For the best whole-wheat taste, it’s important to rush flour from the mill to the mixing bowl. Until you taste bread that Fresh, chances are you’ve never really tasted the true flavor of wheat.
